COVID-19

As of June 1, 2022, Italy has lifted all COVID-19 entry restrictions.

This means that travellers currently do not require any proof of vaccination, a negative test result, or a COVID-19 recovery certificate to enter the country, regardless of vaccination status.

Canadian College Italy has medical support available for students 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. 

If a student shows symptoms of COVID-19 they must go to the office to be tested.

If they test positive, Italy's health ministry requires they immediately self-isolate for a minimum of five days and produce a negative test before leaving isolation. Parents and health care providers will be notified.

Meals and medication (if required,) will be delivered to the student in isolation. All efforts are made to ensure that the isolating student is well, comfortable and safely in contact with the school community. 

Teachers are prepared for to deliver lessons via online learning, should students feel well enough to participate.

We follow Ontario public health guidelines and Italian laws when assessing health protocols. Both bodies require students to be up-to-date on their standard vaccinations. Exemptions will be assessed on a case by case basis.

It is not currently mandatory for students to be vaccinated against COVID-19. That said, it is strongly recommended, as is an annual influenza shot. 

Italy no longer requires a Green Pass to access certain public spaces, public transportation and attractions etc. 

Students are currently not obliged to wear masks in school buildings, but they are welcome to do so.

Those who have had close contact with a positive case, are required to wear a mask in group settings for 10 days after the positive test. 

Students who have symptoms, but who are negative, must wear a mask. 

Italy no longer requires masks in most public places, except for hospitals.
