Dining at CCI

Dining at CCI
A daily rhythmaround the table.
Meals give the school day a steady shape. They are a time to pause, eat well and reconnect, with breakfast at school and lunch and dinner shared at Allegria.
A table with history
Lunch and dinnerin a former Italian inn.
Allegria has welcomed travellers for more than 500 years. Today, its ground floor is CCI’s mensa and restaurant, where the school community gathers for lunch and dinner.
The setting is historic, but its purpose is simple: to give students a familiar place to sit together each day. Conversation moves between languages, friendships form across tables and staff remain part of the everyday life of the community.
The daily rhythm
Three parts of the day.One shared routine.
01
Morning
Breakfast at school
A buffet breakfast is served in the school building before classes. Students begin the day together, with staff nearby and the day’s announcements close at hand.
02
Midday & evening
Lunch and dinner at Allegria
Meals are prepared daily and draw on Italian traditions, seasonal produce and the cooking of Abruzzo. Familiar choices sit alongside opportunities to try something new.
03
Weekends
A different pace
Weekend routines are more relaxed. Sunday brunch replaces the early breakfast, and selected evenings give students the chance to eat in town with friends.
A CCI tradition
Wednesday
Wood-fired
pizza night.
Each Wednesday, pizzas are made to order in Allegria’s wood-fired oven. It is an uncomplicated tradition and one of the most familiar points in the school week.
Food, care & culture
Meals are part ofhow we look after one another.
Regular meals support students’ health, concentration and sense of routine. They also give staff a natural opportunity to check in, notice changes and make sure students have what they need.
Dietary needs
Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. Allergies, intolerances and medical dietary needs are discussed with families so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Learning at the table
Living in Italy includes learning its everyday food culture: the order of a meal, regional ingredients, seasonal habits and the value placed on eating together.
