We had a bit of a sleep-in on our second day in Venice. In the morning we took the students to Murano Island by boat, as not trip to Venice should be without a boat ride!
Murano island is famous for its glass factories and we were happy to be out of the rain an into a warm room full of furnaces! We were fortunate enough to see masters making a gold infused horses head!
In the afternoon, students had the option of touring the Doge's Palace, Museum of Natural History, or the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. The palace was the government headquarters for the Venetians and houses an impressive armoury.
Meanwhile, the Natural History Museum group made the most out of the experience by taking some of the best photos ever by pretending to be the birds and dinosaurs in the exhibit!
There was free time after our tours for students to continue their exploration of Venice.
The next day called for sunny weather, which was most welcomed!
