Pompeii is a very popular destination for tourists, so to say I was excited to be visiting this landmark is an understatement. I had pretty high hopes for Pompeii and it did not disappoint. There was so much history to see and so many historical perspectives to consider when thinking of Pompeii, an ancient city you could really see and touch. The architecture of the city was still in great condition and really helped to show me what this city looked like before Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. You could see what different tools and implements were used for and just how often they got used. You could still find artifacts of people and animals captured just before the eruption, even if they were only plaster molds. The city really shows off its history and why this place is so beloved by many. I think that this really helped us have some fun away from the school and made us all remember the great history events that is Italy. There are also so many ways to reflect upon this trip, but if I had to choose one word it would be, unforgettable. I think this trip is a truly amazing memory that I, and many others at CCI will cherish through the years. We went to visit a place packed with history, and in doing so made ourselves a part of that history. I think we all had a great time and gained a new perspective by looking at this city that was suddenly destroyed by a volcano. I think we all had a great time and made some great memories. I think this made us all love Canadian College Italy more than we already did. This trip was truly an amazing opportunity and honestly, unforgettable.
