Tivoli is a hilltop town about an hour outside of Rome. There, you can find Villa d’Este; a 16th century palace with the most beautiful gardens. Our morning was spent touring the inside of the palace to view contemporary and Renaissance artwork, then strolling through the gardens past the many pools and fountains.
We arrived at Vatican City in the early afternoon. Before entering the museums, the Law class delivered insightful presentations about policing, laws, and interesting cases, particular to Vatican City.
From there, it was on to the Museums to see classic Roman sculpture, the Map and Tapestry Rooms, and Raphael's frescos, before entering the Sistine Chapel.
We arrived back in Lanciano just before midnight. It was a long day, but well worth it!
