We had an early start on Saturday morning as we made our way from Lanciano to Rome. Being able to visit the Colosseum before it got too hot was certainly worth it.
Before entering, we were treated to a presentation by Ms. J's English class, followed by an intense quiz competition. Students then had time to explore this magnificent building.
After the Colosseum tour, we jumped onto the air conditioned metro to avoid walking too far in the heat. Our destination: The Spanish Steps.
From there, students had time to do a little shopping, hydrate, and refuel. The staff recommendation was to have a plate of cacio e pepe for lunch.
In the afternoon, students had the option to visit the National Gallery of Modern Art or Capitoline Museums. Meanwhile, the hardcore history enthusiasts pushed through the heat for a walking tour starting at the Spanish Steps and onward to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and more!
