Science!
The week before March break was a busy one in CCI’s science classes! Ms. Curtin’s Grade 11 Chemistry class explored chemical reactions with a lab activity.
In Grade 12 Physics, Mr. Knapp’s boys were challenged to explore the friction of their shoes.
Finally, the Grade 12 Biology class completed the metabolism unit with a variety of hands-on activities. Alcoholic fermentation was investigated by making bread.
The light reactions of photosynthesis were examined using a role-playing activity.
And the unit culminated in an ultra-competitive, high stakes teams tournament that the students had been working towards for the previous two weeks.
All in all, the semester is progressing nicely and the students have been expanding their science knowledge every day. There is a lot more science fun on the way when the students return to school at the end of the month.
