In the morning, most of our students visited the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna (GNAM) which is located in Villa Borghese. The gallery houses modern and contemporary art and is a wonderful space to walk through and explore.
Some of our returning students, who had visited the GNAM last year, joined me instead at the Andy Warhol exhibition. The show had over 170 of Warhol's works, which included some of his most famous silkscreens.
In the afternoon, we regrouped at the Spanish Steps. Most headed out to the Museum and Crypt of the Capuchin Friars. As it is a sacred place, photography is not allowed.
Meanwhile, our newest students were guided through the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica.
While the photos show lots of sun, the day was quite cold and windy. Come nighttime, we were happy to be back on the bus headed for home.
