Roma

We traveled to Rome this past Saturday. While it only takes a few hours to drive to the Eternal City, we left Lanciano bright and early to ensure we had the full day to explore one of the most historically rich cities in the world.

We began our tour at the Vatican Museums, where our teachers led the students from room to room explaining the significance of the major works within the vast collection of art.

There was time in the afternoon for our students eat lunch and do some shopping. Two tours were led afterward: a walking tour of the historic centre, and separate tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Another hour or so of free time followed the tours, then a rendezvous at the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument before returning to Lanciano.

Needless to say, it was a very busy day with more history than you can shake a stick at.
