Paris: The City of Light

Paris: The City of Light

CCI offers optional trips at various times throughout the year. These trips are organized and led by teachers, and the locations change year to year. These past weeks have been busy with trips to Croatia, Trieste, and Paris.

Ms. Curtin and I were fortunate enough lead the trip to Paris. We departed Friday afternoon from Pescara and made it to our hostel before dinner.

The hostel itself is a very modern building. This was to be our headquarters for the next few days.

Our first day, while rainy, was highly productive. In the morning we headed to Louvre, followed by Musee D’Orsay.

Within no time, we mastered the Metro.

That evening, we took the elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower for some amazing views. I must admit, having never traveled to Paris before, I was amazed at the sight.

The weather was much more cooperative the following day. After buying some baguettes, we took a stroll through the city centre, eventually visiting Sainte-Chapelle and seeing its beautiful stained glass.

In the afternoon, we made our way to the Arc de Triomphe, followed by a walk down Champs-Elysées.

After a successful trip, it was decided that CCI must return to this most extraordinary city next year.
