Lunch in Urbino

Lunch in Urbino

We left Ravenna round 10:00 on Saturday and started to make our way home to Lanciano. The plan was to visit Urbino along the way as it has a rich history and is only an hour off of the main highway. Prior to entering the city, we stopped for an incredible lunch at Urbino dei Laghi. The restaurant is situated between three small lakes on a very large estate. Before sitting down to eat, we had time for a stroll and took in beautiful views of the rolling hills.

After our meal, we entered Urbino to tour the Ducal Palace, which was constructed in the mid-fifteenth century for Duke Federico II of Montefeltro. While the architecture alone is worth the visit, the building is also the National Gallery in Marche and houses important works such as the “Ideal City.” We also had a brief moment to climb one of the building’s towers for great views of the city and its surrounding area.

As always, I thank our incredible teachers for guiding our students on this trip and to Mr. C and Mr. Pino for helping with all of the organization.
