CCI traveled to the Tremiti Islands last Saturday. The islands are located off the east coast of Italy near the Gargano Peninsula.
We traveled south from Lanciano to the port town of Termoli and boarded a jet boat to Tremiti. The sea was a bit rough on the way over, but was worth it!
After an hour on the boat we arrived on San Domino, the largest of the Tremiti Islands.
We then stopped for a swim in the crystal clear water, before heading to the island of San Nicola. Once there, we visited the abbey that was built by the Benedictine monks in the 800s.
The rest of the day was spent on San Domino, where we could swim, enjoy the beach, and explore the island on foot.
Next weekend we head to Rome for our first major educational trip of the semester. We are all very much looking forward to it!
