Every May, CCI embarks on its annual end-of-year trip to Ischia. This volcanic island is located in the Mediterranean off the coast of Naples. This is our final trip, and as such, it is designed to celebrate our year together, and to offer a bit of relaxation before exams.
Our ferry left from the port of Pozzuoli Friday afternoon. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
We arrived at the Hotel Continental in the early afternoon. Many students took the opportunity to visit the beach, shop, and of course, swim in the thermal pools.
That evening, we shared our last “trip dinner” together, though not before a photo-shoot! And while the dinner was wonderful, one could argue that the lunch the following day was even more delicious.
Another relaxing day followed and most students and staff made their way into the quaint downtown of Ischia (the most popular destination was the frozen yogurt shop).
We said goodbye to the island as our ferry departed for Naples at 5:00 pm. Leaving Ischia was a touch difficult, not only because of its beauty, but also because the trip marked the end of a fantastic year.
I must thank our students for sharing in such a lovely trip. As well, I thank our teachers, Mr. C, and our driver, Maurizio, for all of their hard work in preparing for these trips throughout the year. Grazie mille!
