Monday, December 3, 2021: Exam Week at CCI

By Dalai Galindo

Exam week is one of the most stressful weeks of the year at CCI because it will show how hard students have been working during the year and how much time and effort has paid off with endless studying and dedication. The week starts with what feels like a well-deserved rest. We wake up at around 9 or 10 in the morning feeling rested for a busy day of exams. Breakfast is served in the residence where we can have a nice, warm, chocolate cornetto that will fill us up and help us conquer the fear of exams. After breakfast, every CCI student will do their own thing before the start of exams. In my case, I study a bit more, perhaps a couple hours of studying. Then at noon we have lunch at the Allegria. Not much to do after that. At 1 o’clock, we make our way to the school where we will write our exams for the day. Two and a half hours of exams consist of pure silence and concentration. After we are done, we may leave the examination room and go back to the residence to commence studying for the next day’s exam. Students can take time after their exams to relax a bit, workout or study. Then after a couple hours of studying and exercise, students are required to attend dinner at 6:30. After dinner we have about an hour before study hall to get a gelato and relax some more. Then we make  our way to school where we attend an obligatory study hall which is one hour of silent studying and hopefully, productivity. Once that’s done, students may go back up to their residence or go outside for another 30 minutes before curfew at 9:30. After curfew, students will go back up to their rooms to study a bit more and get ready for bed with lights out at 11. During exam week, you can’t afford not to get to sleep right away. When all is said and done, I’m impressed with how we repeat the same routine every day during exam week.
