Curriculum & Courses

Curriculum & Courses
A clear academic path.Built around where each student is going.
CCI offers a serious university-preparatory program for students in Grades 9 through 12, as well as a purposeful gap-year option. Strong foundations come first. Choice and specialization grow as students move toward graduation.
The academic year
How the program fits together
Foundation first.Direction follows.
Grades 9 & 10
Build the foundation.
Students develop essential knowledge and habits across English, mathematics, science, humanities, languages, the arts, business, technology, health and physical education.
Grades 11 & 12
Choose the direction.
With university goals in view, students begin to specialize through advanced mathematics, sciences, English, law, politics, history, philosophy, social sciences, arts and other senior electives.
Gap year
Add what comes next.
Graduates can strengthen a university application, complete prerequisites, explore a new field or build confidence in an academically purposeful year in Italy.
No two pathways need to look the same. CCI works with each student to review previous credits, graduation requirements, strengths and post-secondary plans before building an appropriate course schedule.
The academic framework
High standards.More ways to show what you know.
Ontario curriculum
CCI follows the Ontario curriculum and has the authority to grant credits leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Courses have clearly defined expectations and pathways, while leaving room for thoughtful teaching, individual guidance and meaningful connections across subjects.
Assessment for real learning
Learning is assessed throughout each course, not through one high-stakes examination alone. Depending on the subject, students may demonstrate understanding through written work, discussions, projects, presentations, laboratories, performances, tests and final evaluations. Regular feedback helps students improve while there is still time to act.
Breadth with purpose
Specialize deeply.Keep the whole mind in motion.
Senior students can pursue university-preparation Calculus and Vectors, Advanced Functions, Data Management, Biology, Chemistry and Physics alongside advanced English and literature, law, politics, philosophy, history and the social sciences.
Arts, languages, business, technology, physical education and health remain part of the picture. A future engineer still learns to write and argue. A future lawyer encounters data and scientific thinking. An artist builds historical perspective, discipline and physical wellbeing. The goal is more than a transcript of prerequisites: it is an adaptable, curious and capable mind.
